A VERY SHORT BIO
Rick began his musical career at age 19 when he was signed by Albert’s/EMI as a performer and songwriter. He later moved to the U.K. and enrolled at The Cambridge College of Arts to study for a Dip. Mus. He returned to Australia four years later and set up his first recording studio in Sydney called ‘Honeyfarm’.
He composed over 30 ‘jingles’ for advertising agencies and then turned to T.V. program themes, and wrote extensively for the A.B.C., Grundy Television.
Fremantle TV, and Concept TV, with themes including ‘Four Corners, ‘Foreign Correspondent’, ‘7.30 Report’ and 'Gardening Australia' for the A.B.C., ‘Perfect Match’, ‘It’s A Knockout’, ‘Blankety Blanks’ and ‘Family Feud’ for Grundy TV , and 'Blind Date', 'Candid Camera' and many others for Fremantle and Concept TV.
He moved back to the U.K. in the early nineties to take up a position as musical director for Grundy/Fremantle T.V. productions in London, composing the themes, and acting as Musical Director for live shows such as Man O' Man (ITV) and Night Fever (Channel 5).
Moving back to Australia in 2002, he returned to song writing, and began writing musicals for children and ‘high-school musicals’, as well as producing ‘Tribute’ shows to famous groups from the 60’s and 70’s including ‘The Mamas and The Papas', and ‘The Carpenters’.
He is now writing and producing his Magnum Opus, a musical entitled ‘The Candy Club’.
